Date powder is a 100% natural and sustainable sweetener, made from carefully selected Tunisian Deglet Nour dates that were set aside during the sorting process due to size, surface imperfections, or shape. Instead of wasting these flavorful organic dates, we give them a second life by transforming them into a nutritious and eco-friendly alternative to refined sugar.
This upcycled product supports our commitment to sustainable agriculture and strengthens our partnerships with local farmers in the Tunisian oases of Hazoua, Rjim Maatoug, and El Faouar. By expanding market opportunities for farmers, we also help increase their income and promote a more inclusive food system.
Date powder can also be used for fermentation (citric acid, vinegar, yeast, alcohol), flavored date beverages, juices, confectionery, and baking. This powder is excellent for health as it contains fructose, dextrose, sucrose, and maltose. Not to mention the carbohydrates, which are a true source of energy for the body while helping to combat high blood pressure, since it contains no fat.
In the food industry, date powder is a very healthy ingredient used in confectionery, chocolate, protein bars, pastries, alcoholic beverages, infant foods, dairy products, and ice cream.
Date powder is preserved to create an exceptional natural sweetener; it is also rich in potassium, magnesium, and copper, and is an excellent source of iron, calcium, phosphorus, niacin, and pyridoxine.
Moreover, date powder has powerful antioxidant properties and is abundant in beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, which protect the eyes. Its antioxidant content is higher compared to honey and maple syrup.
